Data Acquisition System

Introduce

A Data Acquisition System (DAQ) is a device that captures and converts physical phenomena—such as temperature, pressure, or light intensity—into digital signals that can be processed by computers. These systems typically consist of both hardware and software, including sensors, signal conditioning modules, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and data logging/analysis software.

  1. Sensor Interface:Connects to and reads signals from various sensors such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, and accelerometers.
  2. Signal Conditioning:Amplifies, filters, and adjusts sensor signals to ensure accurate and stable data acquisition.
  3. Data Conversion:Converts analog signals into digital form using ADCs, enabling computer-based processing and analysis.
  4. Data Storage and Processing:Stores digitized data on a computer or other storage device, with software tools for visualization, analysis, and reporting.

      DAQ systems are widely used in scientific research, engineering validation, and industrial process control. Common applications include monitoring temperature and pressure in production environments, collecting environmental data for research, and recording dynamic performance metrics in automotive testing.
